Yokohama Marathon is an exciting event that aims to promote sports, enhance health, and create economic and city sales effects. Organized by the Yokohama Marathon Organizing Committee, this marathon brings together various organizations and sponsors to support the success of the event.

The Yokohama Marathon is endorsed by Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Yokohama City Sports Association, and other prominent entities such as the Kanagawa Pref. Association Federation and Junior Chamber International Yokohama. With such widespread support, the marathon attracts participants and spectators from all walks of life.

The Yokohama Marathon offers various categories for participants, including the full marathon (42.195km), pair relay, Minatomirai 7km Run, wheelchair challenge, and fun runs for families and junior high school students. Participants must meet certain qualification criteria based on their chosen category. The full Yokohama Marathon requires participants to be at least 18 years of age and complete the race within 6 hours. The Minatomirai 7km Run has a time limit of 60 minutes, and the wheelchair challenge has different time limits based on age groups. Start times are scheduled accordingly for each event, with checkpoints along the course to ensure fair competition.

Awards will be given to top performers in different categories, and timing will be measured using a chip for selected races. Foreign participants are also welcome to join the Yokohama Marathon, provided they meet the registration requirements and agree to the terms and conditions set by the organizers. It is important to note that the marathon communications and support will be primarily in Japanese, and participants should have access to an internet environment for registration purposes.

The Yokohama Marathon is an extraordinary event that celebrates sports, promotes health, and brings together participants from diverse backgrounds. Mark your calendars for October and get ready for an unforgettable running experience in the vibrant city of Yokohama.
